- WC offers a distinctive creative writing program, one of the nation's few undergraduate behavioral neuroscience programs, and a new environmental studies major, while the beautiful Chesapeake region serves as an "outdoor classroom" for both the arts and sciences.

Washington College head women's rowing coach Dr. Mike Davenport has announced that rising seniors Kelsie Jensen (Mays Landing, NJ/Oakcrest) and Kendall Mulligan (Southbury, CT/Westover School) and rising junior Rachel Benders (Cleveland Heights, OH/Beaumont School) will serve as the Shorewomen's captains during the 2011-12 academic year.
