    Monica E. Burgett, daughter of James and Eva Burgett, of Lorain, recently passed her Ph.D Candidacy Exam on June 29, through the Kent State’s School of Biomedical Science. She’ll be doing research at the Cleveland Clinic for the next 24 to 36 months. She is a 2004 graduate of Admiral King High School and a 2008 graduate of Eastern Michigan University in professional biochemistry.
