- The Briar Cliff University has one of patience, perseverance, and unyielding commitment. It is an
institution with a rich Catholic heritage and a strong tradition of service to the community.
- Students can choose from over 40 areas of study, including a number of interdepartmental and
divisional majors, and pre-professional programs including nursing, business, social work, education and mass communications.
The average class size is about 20 students with a student-to-faculty ratio of 13 to 1. Graduate programs are offered in
nursing, education, and human resource management.
- The Briar Cliff experience includes academic achievement and scholarship, recreation, leadership
development, social activities, athletics, clubs, and student organizations. The distinctive beauty of our campus on the
Cliff makes it an ideal setting for learning and living. Sioux City offers everything from indoor and outdoor concerts and
sporting events to an array of cultural offerings, coffee bars, and serious shopping.
- We are located at the edge of urban development, but just minutes from downtown Sioux City (tri-state
metro population: 125,000). Located where the states of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota meet, Sioux City is connected with
other metropolitan areas by Interstate Highway 29 and Sioux Gateway Airport.The hilltop campus includes three academic
buildings, four residence halls, a chapel, library, Newman Flanagan Center (athletic facilities), McCoy-Arnold Center, and
the Stark Student Center.
