- Gustavus prepares its students for fulfilling lives of leadership and service and is committed to the ideals of academic excellence, community, justice, service, and faith.
- Gustavus has achieved an enviable track record in developing collaborative, interactive, student/faculty learning opportunities. Typically, the College ranks among the top ten schools in the nation in number of students invited to present at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR). There is strong evidence that undergraduate research experience is an especially valuable asset when applying for graduate study, as well as when seeking employment requiring a high level of independence.
- Gustavus Adolphus College has made a strong commitment to facilities for its athletics and intramural programs. The combined indoor and outdoor facilities at the college are considered by many to be among the finest in the nation. Over 700 students participate in the intercollegiate athletics program. In addition, approximately 80 percent of the student -body participates in the intramural program each year. The newest addition to the Gustavus athletic facilities is the soccer and track complex, which was added in 2002, while the oldest facility at Gustavus is the football field, which was constructed in 1905. Strong athletic and recreational facilities support the Gustavus mission of encouraging its students to exercise the mind, the body, and the soul for overall health.
- Fully accredited and known for strong science, writing, music, athletics, study-abroad, and service-learning programs, the College hosts a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa and is internationally recognized for its annual Nobel Conference.
