- The College uses innovative approaches in the teaching-learning setting that expand the educational horizons for its students. In a cooperative quest to meet the demands for increased technological skill, faculty and students are encouraged to experiment, explore, and develop new approaches to learning leading to knowledge, mastery of technical and critical thinking skills, development of individual expression, and the discovery of truth.
- The College offers the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science. Students who plan to enter teaching in the elementary and secondary schools as a career or who plan to prepare for college teaching, law, medicine, nursing, allied health, social work, or theology, should register for either the degree of Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. The College reserves the right to alter its curricula, degree and graduation requirements when to do serves the best purposes of the College
- The College's beautifully landscaped 100-acre main campus is organized among the rolling lowlands of southern Virginia, approximately 1 hour from Richmond, Virginia and 1 1/2 hours from Raleigh, North Carolina. The nearby cities provide numerous cultural and recreational opportunities for Saint Paul's students.
- The College is accredited by and holds membership in the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (www.sacs.org). It is approved by the Virginia State Board of Education and is on the approved list of teacher-education colleges, enabling it to grant certification that is recognized throughout the United States. The College also holds membership in the Association of Episcopal Colleges and the United Negro College Fund. In addition, Saint Paul’s is a member of Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II.
