School Notes:
- Millikin offers an education that integrates the traditional liberal arts and the practical arts of the professions. Guided by faculty and staff, and within an inclusive and broadly accessible learning community, our students discover and pursue their full potential, personally and professionally, to do well and to do good.
- What James Millikin envisioned when he founded Millikin University in 1901 was unique: a university that would embrace the "practical" side of learning along with the "literary and classical;" and, while affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, it would not be narrowly "sectarian" and would remain open to all.
- For the 13th straight year, U.S. News & World Report magazine has named Millikin University as one of the best colleges in the Midwest. Millikin is ranked 18th in the Midwest in the Best Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor's category. Millikin has a reputation for preparing its students well for success during and after college. Whatever your interest, Millikin provides the intimacy of a small university and the opportunities of a large institution. Millikin offers a wide array of undergraduate programs, two graduate programs, and serves full-time, part-time, traditional, and adult learners. Courses are offered during the day and in the evening on our 75-acre, Decatur campus.
- From academic honor societies to athletics to service learning projects, students choose from a wide variety of experiences. You can join student government, be a member of Greek life, perform on the Kirkland Fine Arts Center stage or write for the award-winning student newspaper. You'll also have choices about your living space: co-ed, all-women or all-men housing. All rooms are furnished, cable ready, and have fiber optic access to the Internet.
