- 1500 students from 22 states and 12 foreign nations make Lycoming their home. There is 1 professor to
burn the midnight oil for every 13 students. There are 90 full-time "burners" who teach 3 courses each semester to an average
class size of just 18. 92% of the professors have a Ph.D. or the highest degree offered in their field. At Lycoming, you can
choose from over 700 courses in 34 majors. You can read 187,722 books in our library or over 1,147 periodicals.
- Lycoming College believes residence hall living is an important part of the college experience and the
learning that occurs in the halls is an essential ingredient in the growth, development and education of our students.
- Lycoming is located near downtown Williamsport where we've been since 1812 (overture, please) making
us one of the nation's 50 oldest colleges. That's the Susquehanna River in the background and Bald Eagle Mountain. The
International headquarters of Little League Baseball is across the river. If you did a 180 you would see some of the
prettiest scenery around.
- Lycoming is ranked in U.S. News and World Report as a "National Liberal Arts College." In addition to
such fine academic and financial assessments, we are proud that Lycoming is included on the Templeton Foundation's "Honor
Roll of Character-Building Colleges." Lycoming College is ranked as a national liberal art college by the Carnegie Commission
and by U.S. News & World.
