Beacon College was incorporated as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) institution for higher learning on May 24, 1989. The concept for the College was put forth by a group of parents concerned about higher education opportunities for students with learning disabilities. Responding to this concern, the initial trustees founded Beacon College. The College embraces the student with learning disabilities by providing educational opportunities that acknowledge individual learning differences.

Beacon College offers associate and baccalaureate degrees exclusively for students with learning disabilities. Our nationally recognized teaching techniques will provide you every opportunity to achieve your potential and acquire an academic degree.
Beacon College is located in Leesburg, about 50 miles northwest from the vacation capital of America, Orlando, Florida! The city of Leesburg offers a small and friendly town atmosphere and boasts many parks with amazing flora and fauna, including the 80-acre Venetian Gardens on beautiful Lake Harris. Beacon students enjoy apartment style living accommodations, ample student parking, and are within walking distance of downtown shops, banking, and restaurants. A variety of shopping plazas, a shopping mall, and a 12-cinema movie theatre are located within a short drive from campus.
Beacon College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Human Services and Liberal Studies.

LEESBURG, Fla. -- Efforts to tear down a building on the Beacon College campus in Leesburg hit a snag on Monday. The demolition of the administration building was delayed by a flat tire, but they still expect to get the job done Monday afternoon.
