    Haverford College will wait more than a year to get its first choice for a new leader, Lafayette College president Daniel H. Weiss. The prestigious Main Line liberal arts college on Tuesday announced that Weiss, an art history scholar who has led Lafayette since 2005, would become Haverford's 14th president in July 2013.

    (_Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution_) Scientists report "compelling evidence" that the Deepwater Horizon oil spill has impacted deep-sea corals. Their study used underwater robots to investigate the corals and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography to determine precisely the source of petroleum hydrocarbons found. Lead author, Haverford College Assistant Professor of Chemistry Helen White, was part of a research team led by Charles Fisher, including Erik Cordes and Tim Shank and Chris German.
