- Chartered in 1829 as a liberal arts college affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Georgetown is dedicated to academic excellence in a Christian environment. This four-year, coeducational institution is located 12 miles north of Lexington in the heart of the scenic Kentucky Bluegrass. Dr. William H. Crouch Jr. became the 23rd president of the college in 1991.
- The campus is primarily residential and composed of 1,361 undergraduate students and 342 graduate students. The undergraduates come from 103 Kentucky counties, 25 states and thirteen foreign countries, selecting fields of study from 38 majors and 29 minors. The college is noted for its high acceptance rates to medical, law and graduate schools.
- Georgetown is listed by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top national liberal arts colleges (Liberal Arts College - Bachelor's). In addition, Georgetown is included in Peterson's Competitive Colleges and in Barron’s Best Buys in College Education, is ranked one of the Best Southeastern Colleges by The Princeton Review, and, in 2005, was named one of America's Colleges of Distinction (one of only three in Kentucky!).
