Antillean Adventist University is a private coeducational non-profit institution sponsored by and affiliated to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This university-level institution is incorporated under the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and offers a curriculum in liberal arts and professional and pre-professional areas for those students who prefer studying in a Christian environment.
In May 196l, this college received the approval to offer the university level programs that had been offered before by Antillean College in Santa Clara, Cuba. In September, the college opened its doors with the name of Puerto Rican Adventist College; and later, in March of 1962, its name was changed to Antillean College. On August 18, 1989, the Puerto Rico Higher Education Council authorized the name of "Universidad Adventista de las Antillas".
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to student service. Christian values and moral development are embedded in our teaching and lifestyle. It has been said that Puerto Rico is the "Emerald of the Caribbean", and is also known as "The Island of Enchantment", and we say that... Antillean is... The Perfect Alternative to Reach High Academic Goals!.
Antillean Adventist University, located on the outskirts of Mayagüez, is situated within 284 acres of mountainous land close to the Atlantic Ocean. The campus location, surrounded by steep slopes with thick vegetation and only a few minutes away from the Sultana del Oeste the largest educational and commercial center in the area, creates a calm atmosphere for its students and offers professional opportunities for research in a warm tropical environment.
