- Founded in 1847 by the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Earlham College is an independent, four-year, coeducational, residential institution of higher learning.
- Earlham’s 800-acre tree-shaded campus lies at the southwestern edge of Richmond, Indiana, a city of 35,000.
- Earlham offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in 40 disciplinary and interdisciplinary fields, as well as permitting self-designed studies and a cooperative program in engineering. Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Education degrees also are offered. Earlham ranks sixth among the nation’s baccalaureate colleges in the proportion of students who study abroad some time during their four-year undergraduate careers.
