- UH-Downtown has a proud history of providing a high-quality education to a diverse student population. Since its founding in 1974, UHD has more than doubled the size of its student population, increased the number of degree programs from one to nearly 40 -- including four graduate programs, renovated and expanded the campus, achieved accreditation, and received national recognition for its student diversity and outstanding academic opportunities.
- To facilitate the academic success of both its traditional and nontraditional students, the university offers a wide range of support services and employs a faculty and staff who are dedicated to helping students meet the rigorous standards and requirements of its programs.
- UHD offers a wide variety of high-quality academic degrees that prepare students for immediate entry into the workplace, or for continued post-graduate studies and research. In addition to excellent bachelor's degree programs, UHD offers master's programs in four disciplines: the Master of Science in Criminal Justice, the Master of Science in Professional Writing and Technical Communication, the Master of Security Management, and the Master of Arts in Teaching. UH-Downtown, Houston's Downtown University, offers over 30 bachelor's degree programs and 4 master's degree programs.
