- Otterbein College is a private, coed, four-year liberal arts college founded in 1847 and affiliated with the United Methodist Church. We are located in Westerville, a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. Otterbein enrolls approximately 3,100 students, including adult students in the Continuing Studies and Graduate programs. Otterbein has a student-to-faculty ratio of 13 to 1 and offers 56 majors and 41 minors, as well as individualized fields of study. Master's degree programs are offered in education (MAE & MAT), nursing (MSN) and business administration (MBA).
- Otterbein offers a choice of 56 majors and 37 minors in the context of a rich history of a liberal arts education. Our distinctive core - Integrative Studies - brings the College community together to connect diverse aspects of life, culture, and experience through cross-study in the arts, sciences, and philosophy while emphasizing critical thinking, reasoning, and communication skills.
- The 140-acre campus houses 28 buildings, a 270,000 volume library, learning resource center with access to OhioLINK, television studio, 3 art galleries and one museum, fine arts center, a theatre, a two sports and recreation centers, planetarium and observatory, campus radio station, equine facility, student center, and more.
- The Otterbein tradition offers dialogue with other faiths and philosophies, intellectual stimulation, openness to the day's issues, and incentive to new understanding. Thus, Otterbein College seeks students, faculty and staff who represent societal diversity.
- U.S. News and World Report's 2004 Guide to America's Best Colleges ranks Otterbein eighth among the Midwest's Comprehensive Colleges. The rankings are based on 15 measures of academic excellence in such categories as peer assessment, retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, and graduation levels.
