- Established in 1969 as a state-supported, co-educational, four-year College of liberal arts, sciences, and professional studies.
- The College offers the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Social Work degrees; Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Bachelor of Science in Biology/Doctor of Physical Therapy, and Bachelor of Science in Biology/Master of Science in Physician Assistant (joint degree programs with UMDNJ); Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Chiropractic (joint degree program with New York Chiropractic College); Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, Master of Science in Educational Technology, and a Master of Science in Nursing (Nursing Education, a joint degree program with UMDNJ).
- The 300-acre campus includes modern academic buildings with state-of-the-art computer centers; a student life building with FM radio station, student offices, cafeteria, entertainment and meeting rooms; a library with electronic research facilities; an administration building; gymnasium and other athletic facilities including playing fields, 12 lighted tennis courts, and an indoor swimming pool; and housing for more than 2500 students in residence halls and apartments. A campus-wide building program during recent years has resulted in the completion of the Bill Bradley Sports and Recreation Center, with its 2,200-seat arena, fitness center, climbing wall, track and dance/aerobics studio; the Overlook residence hall and the Village apartment complex.
- Ramapo College is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Social Work Program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The Chemistry Program is approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS). The Nursing Program is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) and the New Jersey Board of Nursing. The Teacher Certification program is approved by the State of New Jersey.
