    Bethany University is a four-year, regionally accredited, coeducational institution of higher education that has been operated by the Northern California and Nevada District of the Assemblies of God since 1919. The mission of the University is to prepare men and women for Christian leadership, whether within the church or in the larger society. Historically, Bethany has been the leading source of ministers and lay leaders for the supporting denomination, but more than a third of the students enrolled come from other Pentecostal, charismatic, and evangelical traditions.

  • Bethany University is committed to preparing men and women who have a sense of service, whether as ministers in a church or by contributing their constructive influence vocationally in the larger society. As such, the campus community places importance on a life style that honors this commitment. All students are also required to complete studies in Bible, theology, church history, and practical ministry.
  • The University maintains an environment for the development of the Christian character that requires students to observe standards of conduct and participate in the regularly scheduled devotional events of the campus. The school strives to achieve five following student outcomes- Character Development, Leadership Development, Ministry Development, Professional Excellence.
  • Wilson Library is centrally located on the Bethany campus. At present it houses more than 65,000 volumes of books, as well as periodical, microfilm, microfiche, sound recording, DVD and CD-ROM holdings. The library provides photocopiers including one for photocopying microfilm and microfiche. Computers are available for accessing information from CD-ROM's.The library provides instruction in library use by giving each student an orientation course and by providing reference persons to assist users with their individual needs.
  • Bethany University is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Students attending Bethany can choose from sixteen undergraduate majors, one certificate program, two associate programs and three graduate programs.
