A group of college students marching in protest of the Trayvon Martin shooting have completed their 40-mile march from Daytona Beach, Volusia County to Sanford. The students who call themselves the Dream Defenders completed the last leg of their 3-day march Sunday afternoon. Among the students who have participated in the weekend march include those from the University of Florida, Florida's A&M University, University of Miami, Florida State University, and Atlanta's Morehouse College are participating. A group of college students who call themselves the Dream Defenders have completed roughly 20 miles of their 40 mile march into Seminole County to protest the Trayvon Martin shooting. The 30 students are marching from Daytona Beach to Sanford, where the fatal shooting happened on February 26. Students from the University of Florida, Florida's A&M University, University of Miami, Florida State University, and Atlanta's Morehouse College are participating. A spokeswoman helping to coordinate the march said the students will arrive into Sanford between 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday. Together with college friend Marcus Penny, they founded Retrofit A Million (LRAM) for the purpose of capturing and replacing 1 million incandescent light bulbs with compact florescent bulbs in homes in low-income neighborhoods. So far, 1,000 student volunteers from several universities have screwed in 40,000 bulbs. The bonus is that these student volunteers have also installed water- efficiency devices, including shower heads, low-flow toilets, and bathroom and kitchen sink aerators.
